I’m D. Smith, a native Georgian that can’t seem to stay in the state for long. Tried a number of states and Europe so far, and lately have settled in Asheville, North Carolina. But the cottage on the Roosevelt Warm Springs campus will soon be home. 

I’ve been a lot of things over my work career, but I’ve put that nonsense behind me. The travel in America, Europe, and Asia was useful as an author. And finally the Ph.D. came in useful—for writing about food. I now write books and pet cats for fun, since neither pays well.
